Early Italian Carved Wood Gilded Angel c.1650

An exceptional Early Italian carved wood and gilded Angel. c.1650 The gilding is in glorious condition. Based on the quality of this, the piece would have been created for an altarpiece in either an important church or a wealthy private chapel. The Angel simply glows. The gold resonates with the divine light the Angel projects. A rare and beautiful thing.
