Rare Lead Staff of Asclepius c.1820

An imposing rare lead Staff of Asclepius, a serpent entwined rod wielded by the Ancient Greek physician defied as the God Of Medicine who practiced around 1200BC. The lifelike snake coils round the staff and even has an articulated forked tongue. c.1820
