Original sculpture by artist Sharon Griffin. High fired terracotta with oxide ‘Faun’ is a character made up in response to woodland and the small scurrying creatures that reside there. Folk tales about cutesy little creatures such as door mice, rabbits etc found in children’s stories, fables and theatre plays; all reference a cheeky little character who is loved and adored by all even though they get up to mischief. They have a kind of acceptable ‘naughty’ but are also sometimes vulnerable.
