A time-worn and beautifully patinated lead River God Mask Wall Fountain.
Dating back to the 19th Century, this early lead wall fountain mask of Classical form and antiquity depicts a River or Well God as an old bearded man whose curling beard and locks morph into acanthus leaves.
Simply so evocative of Italian gardens, whether it’s city square or a leafy-green verdant shaded garden, the cooling sound of a trickle or splash of water is a soothing welcome respite in the heat of summer. And the Satyr brings his own genre of mystery and mythology harking back to versions seen in formal Roman gardens.
This piece could be built into a stone wall and trough to create your own water feature of any scale.
Please note the item your are purchasing is the lead mask alone.
