A striking unusually large translucent pale yellow Roman glass flask c. 1st Century A.D.
The organically formed hand-blown bulbous body vase is adorned with a fine spiralling trail in same colour.
With a rim that has a flared mouth to a cylindrical neck. The single trail is applied to the base of the neck and drawn downward in a spiral, ending on bottom. Additionally it’s base is flattened with a distinctive pontiff mark.
Intact with surface pitting and pearlescent iridescent weathering.
A very fine addition to any Roman glass collection.
