An incredibly beautiful early to mid 1600s Flemish Tapestry. Depicting a trio of Angels looking down on to a table laid for the ‘breaking of the bread’ in a mountainous landscape with abundant flora and fauna. This poignant moment is often referred to as being ‘touched by Angels’.
The tapestry is full symbolism and metaphor, with details such as a clam shell Holy Water stoup in the foreground and Italianate buildings punctuated throughout.
