A striking Armillary Sundial set upon a Roman style stone composite column. Mid 20th Century.
The copper and verdigris sundial consists upon a scrolled shaped base with Atlas holding the World upon his shoulders. The sweeping delicate form of the Armillary holds an hour band inside the celestial equator ring with Roman numerals. Striking through the centre is an arrow with stylised feather and point.
The Armillary is paired with an elegant Classical Architectural Roman column, created from stone composite and cast from the original Roman column, now worn with a patination that resembles a piece from antiquity.
The armillary would make a wonderful statement, or focal piece in your garden and would equally look splendid as an interior architectural work of art.
