A finely made wrought iron garden table from Arras, northern France, dating to around 1900–1920. The rectangular top, retaining its old green painted surface with earlier layers visible beneath, is supported by a delicately scrolled wrought iron base with a circular stretcher and four curved legs ending in lion’s paw feet, a signature detail of Arras production in the early twentieth century.
This design represents the later development of Arras ironwork, combining robust construction with the elegant, flowing lines typical of the Belle Époque and early interwar periods. The layered paint surface, with its subtle texture and variation, reflects decades of outdoor use and contributes to its appealing patina.
An authentic and practical piece of French garden furniture, uniting decorative presence with the craftsmanship and character for which Arras ironwork is known.
The table is structurally sound, with weathering, paint wear and light oxidation consistent with age and use.
