Rare Pair of Toleware Candlesticks c.1820

A rare pair of early black Toleware candlesticks c.1820.
Most likely made for use on board a ship, hence the wide conical weighted bases to help keep stability at Sea.
The cylindrical stems have flanged sockets with brass-buttoned candle slides to raise and retract the candle.
Perfect for any Christmas table or candle lit reading.
