A rare early fine Dutch Delft faience ‘Tabac Hollande’ Shop display tobacco jar c.1700 with brass bell shaped lid. With inscribed lettering within a striped oval band and floral decoration motif adorning the front of the jar and decorated clam lip delft blue handles. This would have been used in a Tobacconist to hold a particular variety of tobacco and the huge scale highlights the importance of the blend within. Unusual straight sided shape. Wear appropriate with age.
