A substantial early Delft tobacconist’s jar made around 1700–1730, decorated in strong cobalt blue with a floral cartouche framing the inscription TABAC HOLLANDE. The jar retains its rare chimney-form brass lid, original to the piece and characteristic of the earliest Dutch tobacco vessels.

The jar shows the expected wear of a working trade container of this period: the rim with small historic chips, the applied handles with old but stable repairs, and the lid lacking its original finial (the early dowel fixing still visible). These details reflect its long working life and lend the piece an honest, well-preserved authenticity.

A scarce and impressive early Delft tobacco jar with excellent presence.
