A charming French folk art cockerel, hand-formed in sheet copper with a beautifully timeworn surface. Its sculptural rounded body, cut and folded wings, and serrated comb draw on the long tradition of provincial weathervanes.

The surface has developed a soft verdigris patina, with warm copper tones emerging through years of exposure. There is a pleasing balance between naïve simplicity and considered design—the silhouette bold, the detailing restrained but full of character.

Mounted as a sculptural object on a later stand, it would sit within a garden setting among planting, or equally as an interior piece where its form and surface can be appreciated as art.
