A delicate and beautifully illustrated French roll-top bureau. Mid 20th Century.
Surmounted by a brass ormolu cage. The top frieze has three draws, which in turn sits above the roll-back cover to the main desk. The bureau features a slide-out desk top with leather insert with a hidden compartment beneath. A romantic idyllic country scene depicting three young figures in ‘Gainsborough-esque’ style.
