This stunning French Louis XV Style giltwood carved console from the 19th century is a masterpiece of craftsmanship and artistry.
This elaborately carved water-gilded console, with sumptuous rocaille and exaggerated Baroque ornament is topped with a bevelled Carrara marble top. The cabriole legs are surmounted by a pair of elegantly carved portraits of winged Angels. Centrally, an open Rococo scalloped shell is interlaced with flora and scrollwork. The apron features delicate scalloped edges.
The winged Angels carved atop the legs add an ethereal quality to the piece, with their delicate features and graceful posture.
