A wonderful oversized Georgian Country House two-tier toleware spice box c.1820
Having an unusually complete double layer of individual toleware spice tins each compartment bearing the name of the spice type that they originally held - from Cayenne; Cinnamon W’te Pepper to B’lk Pepper and more. The centre of the tin reveals a concealed handy nutmeg grater. The exterior of the box is black painted toleware, it’s smooth domed lid is crowned with a brass knob.
A simple, ingenious, integral and practical piece of the Georgian Country Kitchen.
