An incredible pair of 18th Century Italian life size kneeling Angels in prayer. Carved from sectional wood in a Renaissance style, and designed to hang facing each other with hands clasped in prayer, they are full of life-like gesture, movement and expression. Exceptional quality carving and ethereal features. Traces of original gesso gilding and polychrome remaining. (Size largest Angel)
