An elegant and classically shaped Louis XV period Canapé en Corbeille circa 18th Century.
Sophisticatedly re-upholstered in hessian with hand-stitching. A real statement piece.
The sofa is in excellent solid condition, with much original gesso and gilding remaining on the channelled foliate frame, on cabriole legs with sweeping curved arms and back.
Beautifully worn over the centuries with historical repairs. Provenance direct from Crowe Hall Estate, Bath.
