A diminutive, but beautifully detailed devotional painting of The Virgin Mary c.1790. Painting on a tiny wooden roundel in oil, and set in a turned gilded cavetto frame. The Virgin’s head is swathed in a scarf and her eyes set down. Her expression contemplative and serene.
