These charming pair of gates originate from the Normandy area of France and are very typical of 16th Century church and courtyard doors of their time. Made from French Oak which has developed a beautiful greyish patina over many centuries and with intricate blacksmith made ironwork, rivets, bands and straps and even a tiny shell on the latch. They are a work of primitive folk art in their own right, and would look incredible as a wall hanging or simply placed in a contemporary or antique interior.
