A charming pair of French composite stone geese, mid-20th century. Each modelled with individual character — one standing alert at 61 cm high, the other stretching forward — both with finely textured plumage and a naturally weathered surface. The forms are expressive yet understated, typical of French garden sculpture of the period, designed to sit comfortably within planting or at the edge of a pond or path.
The pale stone has developed gentle surface wear from outdoor exposure, giving the pair a pleasing, time-softened patina. Well-proportioned and full of quiet personality, they make a wonderful addition to any garden setting.
