A spectacular pair of very tall Italian Altar Candlesticks Late 17th/Early 18th Century.
Hand-carved and turned in wood, painted and gilded. These oversized classically ornamented pricket candlesticks would have originally adorned a Palazzo or church altar.
They have impressive scale and faded grandeur being split and worn over time and use. The residual traces of paint and gilding make them even more exquisite. Perfectly patinated, rustically romantic.
