A notably scarce signed presentation first edition of Treason – For My Daily Bread, published by Vallancey Press in Guernsey in March 1977.
Written by W. G. Stanton and originally presented through the fictional identity of Mikhail Mikhailovich Lebedev, the book is an unusual work of political and conspiracy fiction centred around espionage, post-war intrigue and the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
This copy is particularly desirable for retaining a personal presentation inscription by Stanton himself, written to the front endpaper:
“With compliments and best wishes to Elaine from the author.”
Signed W. G. Stanton and dated 21 May 1983.
Signed examples appear to be exceptionally uncommon, and the inscription gives this copy a direct connection to the author behind one of the more elusive political novels of the period.
