A rare, early and superb example for any collection. A museum quality 18th Century Welsh Comb Back Windsor Armchair chair c.1780
With tall vase shaped centre splat, flanked by ash stick spindles and ash arm bow. The walnut seat is unique and distinguished by its large knot hole. The turned legs pierce through the seat. This is a perfect piece of primitive furniture in it’s spirit and soul. As Leonard Koren (author of Wabi Sabi) wrote: “Pair down to the essence, but don’t remove the poetry.”
