A rare and finely crafted set of five 16th-century English oak bargeboard carvings, showcasing the intricate artistry of Tudor architecture.
The carvings feature swirling, organic patterns and openwork detailing, typical of the period, with delicate loops and vine-like motifs expertly pierced into the oak.
Originally adorning the gable ends of a Tudor roof, the bargeboards served both a decorative and practical purpose, concealing roof rafters while enhancing the building's aesthetic.
The rich, deeply weathered and silvered oak retains its original form, with the beautifully carved designs offering a striking glimpse into Tudor craftsmanship.
An exceptional example of Tudor English oak craftsmanship, ideal for collectors of English oak, or reimagined as a striking piece of antique wall art within your interior.
